"Inspired, poignant and utterly brilliant."
Robert Craven - Independent Music Review
“The lyrics are thoughtful and at times quite deep, making us think, but in contrast the music is light and full of hooks, so they combine together in a manner which is both fascinating and intriguing, making us curious to investigate further. it is a delight the first time it is played and that feeling only deepens the more one gets inside.” Kev Rowland - Prog Archives
“ the songs are tight, well thought out with dedication to time and feel. His work is always a superb listen; he challenges you; he entertains you, but above all, he doesn’t short-change you. He gets better and better with every album he produces; he doesn’t waste your time…a man on top of his game.” Independent Music Review Blog – Robert Craven
"the rich harmony vocals and deft production map out a unique style that makes this album so special. There are so many sparkling riffs, catchy hooks, sing-along moments and fist pumping hooks, that this is an album you can easily come back to subconsciously."
Pete Feenstra Get Ready To Rock
"we have an album … full of hooks and powerful pop rock with a strong commercial element. Steve has a great voice, and he moves seamlessly through different styles and sounds, always creating something very special. Polished, packed full of great songs, this is just a wonderful album which I fell in love with the very first time I played it, and it has only grown on me from there. "
Kev Rowland – Progressor
"when I find myself singing a song during the day, and also waking up with it playing inside my head, then I know I am onto something very special indeed. That song is “Come Out and Play” if you want to hear an absolute classic number then look no further than ‘Come Out and Play’ for an example of singer songwriter delicate pop rock at its’ finest. Yet another great album from Steve.
Kev Rowland – Progressor
"It demonstrates just how much of a complete artist Steve is, as while much of his music is poppy, rocky and with a great deal of fun, this is far more serious. “Will we never, ever learn. The next child could be your own” I can see I am going to have to seek out the rest of Steve’s bands, as everything I have heard from him has been simply superb."
Kev Rowland – Progressor
"Everything about this album is pared down, clean and very well produced. The songs are strong throughout, never once mawkish of over-indulged. Bonino’s standard of musicianship and song writing is assured; nothing is left to chance, nothing is left to waste. Having reviewed four of his albums, this one has breakthrough stamped all over it. It’s his ‘Heroes’, ‘Low’ and ‘Lodger’ mashed into one. Evolution of an artist.
In a word; brilliant!"
Robert Craven – Independent Music Review
GYERLAND “Given that the topic of plastic in the oceans is incredibly topical at present, in many ways it could be argued that this is the most relevant progressive album out there.”
Kev Rowland — Prog Archives
“Bomber Goggles took what is at first glance a story of dread and tragedy, injected it with hope, enveloped in an uplifting spirit, then presented to you the listener an album that is as poignant as it is telling.”
The Closet Concert Arena — Lady Obscure
“Imaginative. Talented. Unpretentious. Easily addictive. Just damn fine music!”
FragileKings – Prog Archives
To say this album is a delight is a masterful exercise in understatement. Power pop, pop rock, crossover prog, melodic rock, call it what you will but know that there are some gorgeous songs here with great hooks. Many of the songs seem incredibly personal, so much so that I felt at times that I was almost intruding, but it was all so good that I couldn’t turn away.
Kev Rowland - Power Of Prog
There is a cinematic sweep to this album. There’s a sly chemistry between the musicians that is infectious and spreads through the songs and grabs each song and drives them along. This is a fabulous album and a great leap into the unknown. This trio are on top of their game.
Robert Craven - Independent Music Review Ireland
"Anyone who has enjoyed any of Steve's other albums, or just wants to hear a songwriter and performer who really knows his craft needs to seek this out"
Kev Rowland – Prog Archives
"The Most Beautiful Feeling is Steve's most accessible album to date. A man who has prog-rock flowing through his veins has taken time to stop and take stock of the world around him and deliver a mature, reflective, and evolving work. This for me, this is his best work to date"
Robert Craven – Independent Music Review
"The two main aspects that run though this album are the clever and involved story telling as we search for an abode in the hope of forging the species’ new path and the fact that each of these intricate cuts live and breathe in a way that has you singing along as you root for the main character. Stargazer is quite the achievement, leaving me hankering for more. "
Steven Reid – Sea Of Tranquility
"The Steve Bonino Project comes full circle on the concept with this cut; the idea that man as a species mucks up everything he touches only to attempt half-hearted justification for all the wrongdoing. The question of what to do next is always open-ended and while the song breaks through the veil in your mind separating logic from emotion, it leaves you with a sense of uncertainty--and isn't that the point?
I enjoyed this album as much for the music as I did for the introspective lens it offers the listener to view it through."
Vinnie Iacocca - - Closet Concert Arena
"Stargazer 2 album of The Steve Bonino Project is both an excellent and intelligent album, that I urge you to try. carefully arranged, detailed and relatively uncomplicated to listen to. Yet brilliantly different and falls under Steve's broad masterful interpretation of prog rock bringing on a big musical smile. "
Andre De Boer – Dutch Progressive Rock Page
" the tale is told with Bonino's intriguing and entertaining melodic progressive rock. Essentially, it's a lively fusion of crisp piano, spry acoustic and electric guitar work, embellished with synths, often symphonic, and wrapped in fine melody and rock groove. Stargazer 2 is a fine follow-up to its predecessor. Bonino's curious space opera continues, once more wrapped up in his playful and entertaining melodic progressive rock. Recommended. "
